Wholesale pricing for serum glass bottles is quoted per project, because the glass is the smallest part of what you pay for. The dropper, the wiper, the decoration and how well they suit your formula move the figure far more than the bottle does, and they are where mistakes get expensive. A complete specification and a shared mould across SKUs are what keep the number down.
What moves the quote
Four inputs set the price of a finished serum pack: the mould (a stock shape or a new one), the decoration, the order quantity and the freight terms. A request for a "30 ml amber dropper bottle" leaves most of those open, so the answer tends to be whatever stock item is closest.
Consolidation is the strongest lever. Three serum SKUs that run on a single bottle mould and differ only in decoration and dropper cost noticeably less than three separate shapes. A new brand can start with one 30 ml amber GL18 mould, two decoration variants and silicone-bulb droppers, and add a second mould once a variant has proved itself. The five fields to put on a serum bottle brief
Bottle, dropper and formula have to be specified together. We ask for these five fields before matching a serum project to a plant.
- Capacity and brimful. Depending on the mould, a nominal 30 ml bottle holds 34–38 ml to the brim. Give both the fill volume and the brimful you need, so the fill line and label claim are lawful where you sell. Check the bottle size chart as well: 1 oz is 29.6 ml, not 30 ml, a gap that has caught out label reviews for US-bound products.
- Neck finish. Droppers use GL18/DIN18, and the brief should say so. The 18/410 and 18/415 CT finishes accept different closures, and stocking both under one SKU is a familiar warehouse mistake.
- Colour, with a measurement. Specify amber by light transmission, ≤10% at 400 nm on the production wall, rather than by a photo. Flint and painted bottles are quoted separately.
- Dropper build. State the pipette length (bottle height −3–5 mm), the tip bore (1.0/1.5 mm), the bulb material (silicone when the serum is oil-based), the collar type and whether a wiper is fitted.
- Formula. Say whether it is oil- or water-based, how viscous it is, and whether it carries high-acid or high-fragrance actives. The answers decide the bulb material, the wiper hardness and the decoration inks.

What does a finished 30 ml serum unit cost at wholesale?
There is no list figure. The total follows the mould, decoration, quantity and freight terms of each project.
Why do most serums ship in amber glass?
No other part of the pack buys as much stability for as little money.
Can bottles and droppers come from two different suppliers?
They can, though the fit becomes your risk. GL18 is meant to be interchangeable, yet the tolerances of two sources add up and leaks follow. A bottle and dropper supplied as one lot can be leak-tested as a system.
Why do serum droppers leak in transit?
Three faults account for most cases: a liner that takes a compression set in a hot container (validate at 45°C), a chipped sealing land on the neck, and a collar tightened until it distorts the wiper. Incoming inspection and a written torque specification prevent all of them.
How long does a wholesale serum order take?
Timing is set per project after the mould, decoration and production slot are confirmed.
Are orifice reducers available in place of droppers?
Yes. They suit facial oils and essences, where pouring or dripping works better than a pipette.
