One of our guides on perfume bottles wholesale; start there for the overview.

Wholesale cologne bottles in the US run on three stock sizes, 30 ml, 50 ml and 100 ml, most often with an FEA 15 or FEA 18 crimp neck or an 18/415 screw neck. Put all three sizes on one neck finish and a single pooled order of sprayers and caps serves the whole line. Pricing is quoted per project: it depends on the mould, the decoration, the quantity and the freight terms, and the sprayer, cap and collar are costed separately from the glass.

Stock sizes and the neck finishes they carry

Each size has a clear retail job. The 30 ml (1 oz) is the travel, sampler and discovery-set bottle, and the usual pack for barbershop splash colognes and aftershave lines. The 50 ml is the core retail size. The 100 ml (3.4 oz) is the value size and also the TSA carry-on maximum, which explains its hold on men's mass-market cologne.

Size and styleNeck finish
30 ml cylinder or flaskFEA 15 crimp, or 18/415 screw
50 ml cylinder or rectangularFEA 15 crimp, or 18/415 screw
100 ml cylinder or rectangularFEA 15 or FEA 18 crimp, or 18/415 screw
100 ml heavy-baseFEA 15 crimp

Choosing one mould family and one finish across the sizes also means the filling line changes size without re-tooling. A brand launching its first cologne is usually better served by concentrating the opening order on the 50 ml and adding 30 ml and 100 ml as extensions than by splitting a small budget three ways.

How cologne glass differs from a perfume flacon

Cologne bottles are plainer than fine-fragrance flacons: cylinders, rectangles and flasks in clear or lightly tinted flint, not sculptural cut glass. Cologne is also often sold both as a spray and as a splash. A bottle that takes a crimp sprayer on one SKU and a screw cap on another is therefore worth having, particularly for a small brand trying to hold less inventory. The flacon end of the family is in our perfume bottle range.

Crimp or screw sprayers

The glass is one of three parts in the dispensing system; the sprayer and the cap with its collar are the other two and need their own specification.

  • Crimp sprayers (FEA 15 or FEA 18) are the prestige standard and resist tampering. They need crimping equipment on the line.
  • Screw sprayers (18/415) need no machinery. They are tightened by hand, allow refills, and suit brands that fill by hand or in small batches. If the line will extend into room or body mists, see our sprayer-matched spray bottles.

Whichever type you choose, have the dip tube cut to the exact height of your bottle. A tube 3 mm short leaves 2 ml that cannot be sprayed, and customers read that as a fault.

Where possible, order bottle, pump and collar as one matched set from a single supplier. Tolerance mismatch between pump and bottle is the leading cause of leakage claims in this category.

When a custom mould is worth it

Stock moulds take a cologne brand further than most buyers expect. Because the category favours simple geometry, a stock cylinder or rectangle with a distinctive cap, label and box regularly passes for proprietary packaging on the shelf.

Two situations justify a private mould. One is a hero SKU selling above roughly 100,000 units per year. The other is a structural idea that stock glass cannot supply, such as an embossed crest, an asymmetric shoulder or a signature base punt.

Three checks before a filling run

  1. Gauge the neck finish. A crimp finish has to hold ±0.15 mm on the sealing diameter or the pump will weep. Ask for the go/no-go gauge report for each lot.
  2. Test decoration against alcohol. Standard flint glass copes with high-alcohol formulas. Sprayed or frosted coatings may not, so confirm they resist 80%+ ethanol; cologne that runs down the outside will strip a soft coating while the bottle is still on the retail shelf.
  3. Leak-test filled goods. Store a sample from each filling batch inverted for 24 hours at 40°C. This finds pump-seat failures before customers do.

When we handle a project, these checks go into the pre-shipment inspection. Our guide to perfume bottle manufacturers sets out the plant capabilities needed to support them.

FAQ on wholesale cologne bottles

What does a complete cologne bottle unit cost at wholesale?

There is no fixed table we can honestly publish. Each project is quoted on its mould, decoration, order quantity and freight terms, with glass, sprayer, cap and collar listed as separate lines.

Can a stock bottle look good enough for retail?

Yes. A weighted cap, a well-made label and a considered box do most of the work on a plain cylinder or rectangle.

How do I stop sprayers leaking after filling?

Buy the glass, pump and collar as a matched set, specify the dip tube to your bottle height, and run the inverted leak test on every filling batch.
