The price of a glass spray bottle is mostly the price of its pump. The glass body is a moulded commodity, while a fine-mist sprayer is an assembly of 8-12 precision components, so a bottle-only figure tells you little about what a working set costs. Sets are quoted per project, and the pump type, gasket and spring grade, actuator finish, quantity and freight terms decide the number.
What a set quote should include
A complete set covers the bottle, the pump with its dip tube cut to length, the actuator, the overcap and a divider case pack. Ask for these as one matched SKU, but with each item priced on its own line.
The pump costs more than the glass because of what is inside it: spring, ball valve, piston, gasket and dip tube, each made to its own tolerance. Bottle-body costs on their own are explained on our glass bottle price page.

Pump types, output and viscosity range
Choose the pump by the dose your product needs and how thick the formula is. Fine-mist pumps handle facial mists, hair sprays, room sprays and essential-oil blends; thicker or higher-dose products need a different mechanism.
| Pump type | Output per stroke | Formula it handles |
|---|---|---|
| Fine mist | 0.12-0.14ml | Up to about 30-50 cps, from water-thin liquids to light toner |
| Treatment pump | 0.2-0.5ml | Thicker serums and lotions to 500 cps |
| Mini trigger | 0.8-1.3ml | Surface products such as cleaning and linen sprays |
A facial mist suits a 0.12ml dose. Essential-oil blends in a carrier oil usually fall at 20-40 cps and mist well. Pure fragrance oils vary too much to predict and need a trial.
Crimp and screw-on pumps cost about the same per unit. The difference is elsewhere: a crimp pump needs a crimping station on the filling line and the consumer cannot remove it, which suits tamper-evident retail fragrance. Screw-on finishes such as 18-415 and 20-410 suit refillable and DIY-friendly brands. Crimp-format packs are covered under perfume bottle pricing.
Example bottle and pump sets
These reference sets show how bottle, neck finish and pump are paired for a given formula. Moving up in output or chemical resistance changes the gasket and spring, and that is the detail on which two quotes for a similar-looking set part company.
| Set | Bottle | Finish | Pump | Output | Suited to |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| SP-15FM | 15ml flint cylinder | 18-415 | Fine mist, PE gasket | 0.12ml | Water-based mist |
| SP-30FM | 30ml flint Boston | 18-415 | Fine mist, PTFE gasket | 0.13ml | Essential-oil blend |
| SP-30A | 30ml amber Boston | 18-415 | Fine mist, PTFE, 316 spring | 0.13ml | UV-sensitive oils |
| SP-50TP | 50ml flint cylinder | 20-410 | Treatment pump | 0.35ml | Serum or lotion spray |
| SP-100FM | 100ml flint cylinder | 20-410 | Fine mist, PE gasket | 0.14ml | Room and hair spray |
| SP-100TR | 100ml flint cylinder | 24-410 | Mini trigger | 1.0ml | Cleaning and linen |
Oil-based products have their own pairing rules, set out on our essential oil spray bottle page.
Three specifications to fix before ordering
Most field failures trace back to one of three mismatches between pump, bottle and formula.
- Dip-tube length. The angled tip should sit 2-3mm above the base. A short tube leaves 8-12% of the product in the bottle; a long one buckles and blocks. Buying bottle and pump as a kit from a single supplier makes the tube length that supplier's responsibility.
- Spring and gasket material. Citric-acid toners corrode 304 springs, so specify 316. Terpenes such as d-limonene swell PE gaskets, so specify PTFE or butyl.
- Viscosity. "Oil-based" covers anything from 10 to 200 cps. A pump that mists jojoba may only dribble a heavy fragrance oil, so run your actual formula through the golden sample.
Record all three in the QC plan, with a spray-output check on every production lot: 30 units, each within ±10% of nominal output per stroke.

How to compare quotes
Insist that every supplier separates bottle, pump, overcap and packing, and attaches the pump datasheet showing output per stroke, spring grade and gasket material. A quote with no pump specification is priced on the cheapest pump available, and the saving reappears later as returns.
Stock bottles with stock pumps are the simplest order. Custom actuator colours and aluminum shells raise both the minimum quantity and the time needed; we confirm both for each project. To start one, send us the capacity, neck finish, pump type, quantity and destination port.
Frequently asked questions
Is the cut-to-length dip tube part of the price?
It should be, and the quote should say so. A pump bought separately and fitted to someone else's bottle is the classic reason 10% of the product cannot be dispensed.
What does a complete glass spray set cost at volume?
There is no fixed figure. We quote each set against its mould, decoration, quantity and freight terms.
